The Affirmation Station, a project designed by my Typography and Lettering class at Mount Mary, is an interactive experiment about how fonts affect people's emotions. Students wrote all kinds of messages in different font styles onto sticky notes and placed them in an area of the student lounge.
As the semester progresses, each student checks in on the wall to see which notes get taken and what messages get added.
My hope for this project was that the students would get a first-hand look at how typography and message can have a direct impact on how someone feels and reacts. Overall the project was well received and the students had a really good time planning and setting it up. The campus has interacted well with the project.
