In the Methods of Digital Imaging class, we do all kinds of different projects that require students to design many different things. The use of Adobe software is encouraged, but not required. There are many other programs that students use such as Canva, Procreate, Figma, and more to develop their design skills. They get studio time to develop their ideas and designs. Before each project is due, we do a student presentation in front of the class so they can get a critique from their peers and me as their instructor. The projects are due 2 days later which gives the students time to revise if they choose.
Class Projects can include the following:
Vintage Ad Redesign, The Bad Menu, Corporate Brand Identity, Personal Collage, Product Packaging, and Nonprofit Shock Advertising Campaign. In-class projects include Design work for the University, a special day of event fliers, and the final exam one-day project.
Below is a sampling of the work that students have done for the class.
